Jon Warren Lentz is the founding partner of Beyond Green IT. His consulting firm, Jon Warren Lentz, Inc., offers high level strategic advice to select companies in the sustainability sector. He lectures frequently on topics relevant to green business, sustainability, & climate change and writes about the environment for his corporate blog, www.jonwarrenlentz.com. A cross-discipline creative, Jon is an internationally published author of best-selling titles on digital imaging & design (including the original Flash 4 Bible). His background spans the gamut from ancient & modern languages; literature & fine arts; to business development & finance. A serial entrepreneur & teacher, he’s built two successful businesses & has taught at both the college level & on the national seminar circuit. In 2006 he founded UNcom, a 501C-3, to promote “public awareness & understanding of the state of the global environment with a goal of environmental preservation.” He’s a member of the Sustainability Alliance of Southern California, CleanTECH San Diego & the non-profit sponsor & Co-Chairman of the San Diego Green Business Network.

 

Alan Ball, Qualcomm emeritus, is a senior executive with extensive sustainable business experience poised to add value to the corporate IT spend, while decreasing IT operational & capital outflow. With domestic & international experience negotiating large complex IT contracts, Alan is also experienced in the establishment of sustainability programs that reduce carbon footprint & inventory greenhouse gas emissions. Alan has implemented IT energy management plans to increase efficiency & reduce demand while integrating these plans as part of a broad corporate policy of climate change reduction. His climate strategies included IT supplier procurement policy & employee engagement. An early adopter of IT energy cost management strategies, Alan’s commodity contracts for electricity, natural gas, & reclaimed water, applications of central plant combined heat & power, & installations of large scale photovoltaic, rendered substantial annual savings, added generation redundancy, & increased IT reliability - while also reducing harmful emissions. Alan is Secretary-Treasurer of the Board, & on the Executive Committee of the Sand Diego based California Center for Sustainable Energy. He’s on the Advisory Board of Venture Tech and is Co-Chair of the Energy Committee of the Industrial Environmental Association. He’s also the Chairman, & on the Executive Steering Committee of the Sustainability Alliance of Southern California. Additionally, Alan is a member, & serves on the Energy Committee, of the prestigious Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
